The Cube

The Cube
March 2009

Three simple orthogonal objects interpenetrate. The interpenetrated space is interesting. This occurred within a cubed domain. I built a frame to help emphasize the edges and corners. Lines from the objects were continued on the faces of the cube. Wood and sanded acetate were placed on the faces and objects to create solid, semi-solid, and void planes. Once the objects and faces were defined, I expanded and extended elements of and from the cube. The space between the interpenetrated objects radiates through from the cube and rotates around and lands at the edge of the model. A solid plane that is parallel to the interpenetrated space gradates from the cube on the upper level of the model.
